Surge of new presenters join NNBC

Producer Michaela Tomlinson

Northampton’s newest Radio Station has had a surge of over twenty new presenters joining in the last three months.  Here’s a quick rundown of the latest shows.

Professor Adrian Pryce will be hosting the new business show tonight, Open For Business, during the showcase, with producer Marc Webber and Northampton Business Community Guests.

Pete Dennis will be hosting a classic Rock Show, beginning this Saturday, between 10 pm and Midnight. Perfect for a classic Rock night in.

Michaela Tomlinson is working with Rachel Schouten Monday nights, bringing her passion for local music.

Tuesday nights is our showcase of new presenters from 7 to 9, and Tuesday, the 27th highlights our new daytime presenters, Ian McFarlane and John Leivers.  They will have a fun and lively chat filled show on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 5.  Both are seasoned presenters from Nene Radio and bring their talent to us.

You’ve heard of Zach in Undiscovered Northampton on Monday mornings from 10.  He’s to be joined by a co-presenter Zara Hussein, NNBC’s own agony aunt.  They will be talking about the best bits of Northampton.

Of course, we have our new Rhythm Factory with Steve Mapson, started last month – that’s been going on on Friday afternoons from 2 to 4.

Mark Stroud follows, with a magazine style show that covers all sorts – especially about local people that are doing good things for the community from 6 to 8pm.

Love Songs happens on Tuesday night with Shelly Stevenson.  A chance to snuggle up to your sweetie between 9 and 10pm.

Jashi Smith is coming soon with his blend of Reggae and R n B.  Also premiering soon a Big Night In with Colin Read.  A blend of the best of classic Rock and Indie.

Sunday Mornings is our Faith in the Community show, with Revered Nik Stevenson.  Multi-Faith and ecumenical – focusing on what is happening in the faith community in Northampton.

Not to mention our returning presenter, Steve Riches – back for speciality shows – such as our recent Election Special.

This autumn we have assistance from the Marketing and Advertising students from Northampton University to help us have our launch.  Though they will not be on air as presenters, they will be valuable to make our presence known.  We are very grateful to Kardi Somerfield for making that happen.

Coming soon a tech and games review show, daytime chat, a radio drama in parts,  and a show that talks about the funny bits in historic Northampton.

This is not even mentioning all of our other brilliant presenters who were here before.

It’s all go!
