Writer Alan Moore has warned he will scrap plans to film a TV series in Northampton if the County Council goes ahead with a plan to close libraries.
A package of cuts were unveiled this week aimed at saving £9.6 million including various options for radically reshaping the county library service.
A final decision on the budget will be taken in February, which by then will also feature a further £27 million of cuts to be announced in December.
Moore, who wrote V for Vendetta and The Watchmen, has defended the library service over the years told The NeneQuirer magazine: “I’ve had enough. This town is a degraded, devastated wasteland and it really needs something doing about it quick and by that I don’t mean closing down 21 of the libraries.”
