Changemaker Awards celebrate making a difference

People and organisations bringing about positive social change were highlighted at the Changemaker Awards in Northampton last night.

The University of Northampton, the only English university accredited by the international Changemaker organisation, hosted the gala event at the Park Inn and attendees included the Mayor of Northampton Tony Ansell and the Lord Lieutenant David Laing.

NLive was among the nominees for Changemaker University Initiative of the Year for its work reaching out to the wider Northampton community but was pipped at the post by the Roots of Empathy Programme which tackles bullying.

Other award winners on the night included Greenfields Primary School as Changemaker School of the Year, Bethel Tadesse and Laney Holland as the joint Changemaker Students of the Year and Liz Carroll-Wheat at the Community Changemaker of the Year.
