Jacobite Productions Creative Director and history buff Matthew Widdowson said: “People don’t know about the key role Northampton played in saving the country as Bonnie Prince Charlie attempted to overthrow the Germany monarchy and restore the Stuart line.

“Eventually we want to have a trilogy of plays covering the whole story including Bonnie Prince Charlie’s eventual escape.”

Matthew and some members of the cast visited the NLive studios to talk about the production.

The play stars Jake Ashton as Charles Edward Stuart – The Bonnie Prince , Andrew Maxwell as Lord George Murray, Dan Collins – Comedian as Ranald Clanranald, Nat Gibbard and Mia Hannah Nicolaides.
