Showcasing Local Bands at Santa Pod

Written by on April 30, 2019

This weekend, we showcased three local bands, GOGO LOCO, Toffees, and The Barratts, as well as our two resident DJs, DJMK and A Darker Wave. They absolutely smashed it at the Vauxhall Show, along with all of our presenters on the day, and if you missed it, here’s a quick rundown of them all:

GOGO LOCO

GOGO LOCO are a rockabilly two-piece from right here in Northampton, and bring a ton of energy to the stage! One stand-out that we noticed was that the drummer played the drums with the maracas rather than drumsticks. Great stuff. You can check them out on Facebook here or on their website here.

Toffees

These guys rocked the stage, even without their bass player! It’s easy to see why this fast-rising young band are gaining new audiences and followers wherever they go, and you can join their ever-growing list of followers on Facebook here and subscribe to their newsletters on their website here.

The Barratts

The Barratts bought their unique indie flair to Santa Pod and captured the attention of everyone around, even as they got drowned out by jet car fumes and the lead singer having his blown off by the day’s winds. You can check them out on Facebook here and their website here.

A Darker Wave

Our resident underground techno and deep house DJs, A Darker Wave are made up of Jacki-E and P-Mac, both successful DJs in their own right, with Jacki-E’s debut release reaching number 1 in the techno and house charts. You can check them out on their website here.

DJMK

Our very own DJMK closed the day with the best of afro beats and a really cool mask. We would definitely recommend that you tune in to his show on Saturdays, 10-midnight, although you won’t get to see his cool mask. To see more about him, follow him on Facebook here!

We at NLive would like to say a massive thank you once again to all the bands involved, all our presenters, and all the people at Santa Pod for making the event happen!
