A roar-some day out as dinosaurs invade Northampton Town Centre
Written by NLive News Team on July 27, 2021
Visitors to Northampton Town Centre last weekend were in for a surprise as long thought to be extinct dinosaurs were brought back to life thanks to a Dinosaur Day event organised by Northampton BID along with Hire Dinosaurs.
The day which was reminiscent of scenes from the Jurassic Park film series saw several different types of creatures including a raptor, spinosaurus, tricerotops and Zeus, Europe’s largest T-Rex perform in arena shows to large crowds on the Market Square as well as roaming the streets and creeping up on passers-by. There was even a talking dinosaur inside the Grosvenor Centre.
The event was supported by many local businesses who participated by running themed food and drink promotions, craft activities and quizzes and more.
NLive Radio were right in the middle of the action by the arena and broadcasted live during the day as well as handing out balloons and wristbands to the crowds. There was also the ‘Roar like a dinosaur’ competition for children with the winners receiving a family ticket to the ‘Jurassic Earth’ live show at the Deco in August.
There are more dino activities lined up until August 14th and you can find out more about these on the Northampton BID website.
Take a look at our gallery below from Market Square event, and you can listen back to the live broadcast on our Listen Again page.
