Boughton’s spirits lifted by dinosaur sighting

Written by on April 7, 2020

Residents of Boughton’s spirits were buoyed this weekend when a 14-foot dinosaur visited the Northamptonshire village this weekend.

Taking inspiration from those dressing up as superheros on their government-allocated one piece of exercise per day, 47 year-old Darren Smith walked round the village as Reggie the Rex.

The costume that he wears can roar and blink and sits on Darren’s shoulders and he steers it like a bicycle.

Whilst on his walk, Mr Smith remarked that he saw many people waving from their windows including many children, and was delighted to be bringing joy to many during these unprecedented times.

The 47 year-old said, “I had this thing sitting in my garage that doesn’t get a whole lot of use so I thought I could take it out around the village.”
