Cafe Track opens in Northampton
Written by Steve Scoles on February 22, 2019
A new cafe has opened in the middle of Northampton which will offer employment opportunities for autistic people.
Cafe Track on the Market Square launched today with the theme ‘Celebrating Northamptonshire’.
Among special guests visiting were Saints and England Captain Dylan Hartley, Northampton Mayor Tony Ansell, boxer Chantelle Cameron and swimmer Ellie Robinson.
Cafe owner Tom Cliff said: “We want to create an environment where people are able to be themselves. We also want to demonstrate that people with autism are capable of a wide range of things.”
Among items on the menu are stone-baked pizzas thanks to a pizza oven on site from the previous occupants The Plump Partridge.
NLive will be broadcasting live from the cafe in the next few weeks.
