Circus thrills on upgrade day

Northampton BID will be staging a day of circus thrills on the day of NNBC’s town centre unveiling.
As well as giveaways and information about NNBC’s new name and new look, a street circus will take over the Market Square featuring stilt walkers, a shopping trolley dance, face painting, acrobatics and plate spinning.
The circus fun will run from 11am to 4pm when NNBC will also have a stall showcasing the station’s new identity including our new name voted for by listeners, a chance to meet presenters and collect giveaway goodies.
There will also be details of a special gig bringing you the Shoetown Sound and featuring up to six local acts and more highlights from the NNBC schedule.
Station Manager Shelly Stevenson said: “We have been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes to bring in new presenters and reach out to different parts of the community in Northampton. When you get a new phone or computer, it takes a little time to get it up and running while it upgrades to the latest versions of the software on the machine.
“That’s what it has been like for us at the radio station. NNBC is coming out of the box and is upgraded and ready to go. We have had a vote on a new station identity and we are determined to make 106.9fm the place on your radio dial where you can find music, events and news from your community. Who knows, you might even be on there soon.”
