Diners tuck in at largest ever Binnertime

Elsie’s Cafe held its largest ever Binnertime event on Monday night when The Perfect Country Pub company hosted it at three pubs across the area.
The Red Lion at Yardley Hastings, The Tollemache Arms at Harrington and The White Horse at Tilbrook created three separate delicious menus out of ‘rescued’ food provided by Elsie’s Cafe.
Elsie’s is a social enterprise that intercepts usable food that is being discarded because it is approaching its best before date.
Joe Buckley of the Perfect Country Pub Company said: “It is very important for us to be involved with the community and we really believe in putting something back. Our chefs have been planning these menus and waiting to see what food would come in. It has been a bit of inspiration for them.”
