Locally renowned social business Goodwill Solutions CIC have just been named as finalists in not just one but two Northamptonshire business awards.
With a Queens Award for Promoting Opportunity in June already under their belt, this week Goodwill Solutions CIC received the great news that they have reached the finals of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards for both the Community Business of the Year AND Positive Impact award categories.
The company is well known as a warehouse and logistics social business arguably the most successful social enterprise in Northamptonshire and has for many years used its profits to fund training and support for some of the most disadvantaged in the local community, helping people to gain new skills and move into sustainable employment. They also manage the Building Better Opportunities Programme which is funded jointly by the European Social Fund & National Lottery Community Fund.
As well as funding their own programmes Goodwill Solutions has provided grants to other organisations and supported Northamptonshire Police in their Community Initiative to Reduce Violence, designed to help young people move away from the cycle of gang violence and offending.
Detective Inspector Daryl Lyons commented recently ‘It is down to Goodwill Solutions support of Northamptonshire Police and its mission that allows CIRV and the early intervention team to operate in a neutral space where agencies and staff from a variety of backgrounds can operate under one roof as a true multi-agency team’
The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the Mecure Daventry Court Hotel on the Thursday 5th November.
