Northampton keeps clapping for the NHS

Delapre Abbey gets blue makeover for the night, as Northampton’s brave Emergency services pay tribute to carers.
Clap for the NHS is a new trend gripping the country as people stop what they are doing and clap in solidarity with the NHS at 8pm for a minute. The Police, fire service and NHS workers here in Northampton had a special clap for their brave heroes. Delapre Abbey in Moulton Park, one of Northampton’s most recognisable buildings was lit blue, the colours of the National Health Service. To add, a heart-warming video from the car park of Northampton general hospital shows the emergency services saluting and paying tribute the number of nurses and doctors present. This culminated with thousands of people from members of public clapping in their droves as their way to pay tribute and say thank you.
As of the time of writing, Northampton has recorded more than 150 people have sadly died from COVID-19 and Northampton general hospital has seen 93 deaths the highest proportion of any Hospital in the county.
