Northamptonshire celebrates Small Charity Week

Small Charity Week (14 to 19 June) celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work carried out by the UK small charity sector.
Small Charities across Northamptonshire make an invaluable contribution to the lives of individuals, communities, and causes; during the last year, it has been clear how important these organisations have been in supporting local communities and ensuring the continuation of essential services.
Starting today (Monday 14 June) with a focus day to raise awareness of the work all small charities do, Small Charity Week will begin a national 9:30 tweet with the aim of getting #ILoveSmallCharities #SmallCharityWeek #SmallbutMighty trending on social media.
NLive Radio spoke to Alison Hodson Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire’s Development Officer about the importance of small charities: “If you were to ask someone in the street they could probably name the 10 big charities in the country, but in reality within Northampton, there are hundreds of small charities that are just quietly getting on with the things that they do.”
Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire offer support for charities across Northamptonshire and are this week hosting a funding fair online from Tuesday 15 June till Thursday 17 June between 10 AM and 4PM.
The fair will include presentations from funders for charities throughout the days, including The National Lottery Community Fund and Northamptonshire Community Foundation. You can see the full schedule at www.voluntaryimpact.org.uk/funding-fair-2021/
NLive Radio will be talking to small charities throughout the week on air and online.
