Notable disruptions foreseen as rail workers plan strike that could possibly stretch into the new year.

Written by on November 18, 2019

Rail Union RMT has declared it will encourage all staff members of the  London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway to go on strike every saturday through to January 2020.

The strike will occur on Nov 23, Nov 30, Dec 7, Dec 14, Dec 21 and Dec 28.

This will mean extremely limited services for trains that usually pass through Northampton  on saturdays.

People travelling from Northampton to London Euston and Birmhingham  will be unable to travel to those two destinations.

The strike comes as a result of an extended disagreement over the roles of guards since the train operators are considering the move to  “river only operation”

West Midlands Railway stated that they working hard to settle the dispute with the RMT.

Commuters who have already purchased tickets are entitled to a full refund if they return the unused ticket and wont be charged an administration fee.
