University of Northampton Lecturer Wins International Art Award

Stefan Gant, a University of Northampton art lecturer, has received the People’s Choice Award from the Lumen Prize for his recent piece, Phygital Palimpsest.

The Lumen Prize is an international art competition that celebrates art created with digital technology in new and exciting ways. Stefan used satellite mapping data and photo scans in order to create his photographic-digital exhibit, or “phygital” as he terms it.

This project took Stefan five years to plan and create, working with fellow artists as well as the School of Archaeology from the University of Oxford.
