Northampton software firm launches affordable platform to help manufacturers modernise operations

Web Alliance says smaller businesses are looking for cheaper and more flexible alternatives to traditional systems

A Northampton-based software company has launched a new digital platform aimed at helping manufacturers modernise the way they manage their businesses.

Web Alliance introduced the platform, known as WAMRAD, as part of its expansion from custom-built software development into product-based services.

The platform has been created to support small and medium-sized manufacturers across Northamptonshire and the UK. It is aimed at companies looking for more flexibility rather than traditional off-the-shelf software.

Founded in 2012 by Ashish Kumar and Iram Gilani, Web Alliance began as a small startup operating from a family home. The business now works with companies across the UK, developing software designed to manage operations, customer data and workflows.

Director Ashish Kumar said the new platform was created using years of experience brought together in one product.

He said: “Thirteen years ago, we believed SME’s deserved better than rigid systems that forced them to change how they work. We wanted to give smaller businesses access to the kind of bespoke technology usually reserved for large enterprises.”

“Launching WAMRAD is a proud moment for us. It’s everything we’ve learned over the years, brought together into something that businesses can use quickly and build on as they grow”

Traditionally, manufacturers have faced a choice between quick-to-install but flexible software or bespoke systems that can cost more than £50,000 and take over a year to develop.

Web Alliance says WAMRAD bridges that gap by allowing businesses to begin using the platform within a week, while still offering the ability to customise and expand the system overtime.

The platform launches with a ready to use CRM system for managing customers and daily operations. Additional features can then be added gradually, allowing businesses to build the software into a fully tailored ERP system as they grow.

Web Alliance also introduced pricing structure aimed at making the software more accessible to small businesses. WAMRAD is available with a £300 one off set up fee and a monthly subscription of £300 that covers up to 10 users. Additional users cost £10 a month.

Each client receives its own dedicated system and retains ownership of its data from the outset. Businesses can also gain access to the source code, allowing any future changes to be managed internally if needed.

The company says the launch comes at a time when many manufacturers are looking for ways to improve efficiency, lower costs and remain competitive in a challenging economic climate.

WAMRAD is now available for demonstrations and is supported by a UK-based technical hotline operating Monday to Friday, alongside an online ticketing support system.
