It’s launch day – we are officially NLive

NNBC has officially become NLive today, and to celebrate our upgrade we broadcast live from Northampton town market square.

On the market, we handed out balloons, sold t-shirts and pick ’n’ mix, and there are still prizes to be won.

Tag our pages on Facebook and Twitter and say which prize you’d like, for a chance to win a spa day, or panto tickets at The Deco.

Several winners have been announced so far: Megan Elizabeth has won tickets to see the Cobblers and Lisa Jackson has won an NLive t-shirt.

John and Ian, from the Afternoon Delight show, lead the game of Play Your Charts Right with pick ‘n’ mix prizes.

The celebration continues as NLive is hosting a gig at The Lab tonight to showcase our Shoetown Sounds!

We have performances from local acts including Burrowing Bees, Hana Brooks, Deep Sea Mountains, O’Mahon and Charlotte Carpenter.

It’s £3 on the door or free if you got one of our NLive wristbands from our stall in the market – and of course, it will be broadcast live on 106.9fm.

Over the course of the day, presenters introduced themselves and previewed what will be coming up on their shows for new listeners.

Northampton BID’s circus was also on the market today, and some of their team joined us on air. We spoke to the circus organiser Chris Barker, Lucy, who performs Stilt Balloon Modelling and the Van Dunk Brothers – who showed us some of their award-winning dry-land synchronised swimming moves:

Listen to NLive on 106.9fm, the TuneIn app, or online.

Thank you very much for seeing me on Saturday. I would love to come on boad with you as a Presenter and also to seek sponsors and advertisers-based on a commision only renumeration.

I look forward to hearing from you about the induction and training programme in the near future.
